Electrical Wiring for Home Additions
Adding a bedroom, garage, lanai or in-law suite means extending your home's electrical system into new space. The addition needs its own circuits, lighting and outlets, and your existing panel has to be able to carry the extra load.
Grand Electric, Inc. works with homeowners and builders to wire additions from rough-in through final inspection. We plan the layout around how you'll use the space, confirm your panel and service can support it, and handle the permits the work requires.

Common questions
Home Addition Electrical FAQs
Will my addition need a new panel?
It depends on your current service size and the new load. Many additions can be fed from the existing panel or a subpanel; larger additions may need a service upgrade. We check this before work starts.
Can you wire a garage for a workshop or EV charger?
Yes. We can add dedicated circuits for tools, compressors and EV chargers, plus lighting and outlets laid out for how you'll use the space.
Do you coordinate with my builder?
Yes. We schedule rough-in and final inspections around your builder's timeline so the electrical work doesn't hold up the project.
Is a permit required for addition wiring?
New construction electrical work generally requires a permit and inspection. We pull the permits the work requires and schedule the inspections.
