Common questions

Panel Replacement FAQs

How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?

Common signs are breakers that trip often, no room for new circuits, plans for an EV charger or major appliance, or a panel brand known for problems. We can inspect your panel and tell you whether it needs replacing.

How long will my power be off?

Most panel replacements are completed in a day. We schedule the utility disconnect and reconnect ahead of time to keep the outage as short as possible.

What is the difference between a panel replacement and a service upgrade?

A panel replacement swaps the breaker panel itself. A service upgrade increases the amperage coming into the home, which can also involve the meter base and service conductors.

Will a new panel help my home insurance?

Insurers often ask about panel age and brand, and some will not cover homes with certain older panels. A replacement can resolve those concerns; check with your insurer about your specific policy.
